Kalkhoff is a traditional German company with a history spanning over 100 years. Founded in 1919 by 16-year-old Heinrich Kalkhoff in his family home, the company initially produced tires and other bicycle parts before manufacturing complete bicycles from 1927 onwards. During the Second World War, the company was initially forced to produce war materiel, while after the war, it became necessary to manufacture other industrial goods such as boilers, kitchen stoves, and the like. It was not until the 1950s that bicycle production could be resumed. Since cars were relatively rare and in short supply in post-war Germany, there was a high demand for two-wheelers, which ushered in a golden age for the brand. In the years that followed, Kalkhoff achieved international success with the "Made in Germany" seal and built its reputation as a quality manufacturer. The modern success story of Kalkhoff began in 2007 when the first mass-produced Kalkhoff e-bike rolled off the assembly line. Kalkhoff correctly read the signs of the times and entered the pedelec sector just in time for the start of the e-bike boom, establishing itself as a German innovator in the field of e-mobility.
Kalkhoff is known for quickly adapting and implementing innovations in the field of bicycle manufacturing, and e-bikes in particular. The brand sees itself as a co-creator of environmentally friendly mobility, which is why it strives to make its e-bikes increasingly comfortable, safe, and fun as everyday means of transport. For example, some models use the relatively new Bosch e-bike ABS technology, and the company offers so-called "XXL" or "Plus" models with a permissible system weight of 170 kg, which also allow heavier individuals access to sustainable e-mobility.
In addition to the excellent e-bikes for which Kalkhoff is now rightly known, the company remains true to its origins by continuing to offer trekking and city bikes for men and women without motors. Kalkhoff bicycles are impressive due to their simple, uncluttered design and high-quality workmanship. Bikes like the Endeavour or Image are reliable everyday companions for the modern man or woman.
A Kalkhoff e-bike offers its rider an appealing, fully integrated, yet functional design, the latest e-bike technology, and, not least, a great deal of comfort. The various model series are perfectly tailored to their respective areas of use: while the Kalkhoff Endeavour makes even longer pedelec tours comfortable as an e-trekking bike, city e-bikes like the Kalkhoff Agattu or the Kalkhoff Image redefine urban mobility. For the adventurous, the brand also offers all-road e-bikes in the new "E-SUV" category: the Kalkhoff Entice is perfect for riding enjoyment even off the asphalt. Whether it is a Kalkhoff e-bike for women or men - everyone will find their ideal pedelec here! Many
